It turned out OK i guess. it's not pretty though, because i was trying for a maple icing and used cream cheese icing...i kept adding maple syrup to it and it ended up using so much it thinned to almost a glaze. It was a three-layer cake, so without a thick frosting, i couldn't pretty-up the sides, so it isn't very attractive, but the filling between the layers was SO tasty!

I loved the puzzle and enjoyed solving it... I can't decide what I think about a bacon cake though... a part of me thinks yummy but another part worries about my cholesterol level!!!

There's a local doughnut shop here in Rapid City, SD that has a long-john with a maple frosting on it, topped with a hefty thick slab of bacon. Interesting and tasty.
