"Oh my gosh!", she gasps. "I don't believe this!" She pulls out five crisp one hundred dollar bills. Next to the money is a note. She unfolds it and begins to read: "Dear _______. Thank you so much for your hospitality. What a nice apartment you have. Your mother didn't mean it when she said your neighborhood looked scary. We really enjoyed our visit - especially our hike in Grunyon Canyon. Never mind what your mother said. I'm sure you didn't know that the poison ivy was there. And ______ seems like a really nice guy. Upstanding fellow. I don't care what your mother said. He doesn't look shady to me at all! Maybe she's still a bit upset that you moved so far away. Oh, well. Use this to buy something nice for yourself, okay? Gotta go now. Thanks again for showing us a real good time! Love, Dad. ps. Sorry about your lizard. I was just trying to get a good look at her. I didn't mean to drop her. Or step on her tail. That'll grow back, though, right?

Ditto #1 - I was going to comment on how I love the details.
Her mother sounds a little like mine when I started to date my husband, and again when we decided to move very, very far away.

I am always amazed at the detail in your puzzles Linda and I always look forward to the next one! What's she to do now? Keep the money ... or send it back. I think I remember that she doesn't like it when he calls himself Dad. I think I would send it back.

Hey Susan - I really don't know what she's going to do. I asked her, but she was mum on the subject. I kind of feel like you do. I think she really needs the money, though.

Another funtastic puzzle. Bob doesn't seem so bad. He's really trying to be a nice step-dad. I like a man who can admit to and apologize for his mistakes. :-)

hi teresa - thanks for the comment :-). maybe this gift will turn her around. like her mother, she also holds a grudge - she's been aloof toward bob ever since her mother married him.

I wonder if Bob is trying to buy her affections. He seems like a nice guy, though, even if he is a bit odd. I wasn't sure what she was spilling until John mentioned it. I think she'll probably accept the money, especially since it might hurt his feelings if she didn't. Great quality image, as always.
