Solvable if one concentrates on the ones surrounding the top cross-wise line.

There is some smile logic to finish.

I disagree. There's a cute little 'pixel' peeking out of a grid with an 8 and a 1 on top. What's not to love about that?

The last little bit was kind of fun to solve. Column 16 is solved, and there is a small 2x2 square of white boxes (R1-2/C17-18) where 2 black pixels must go. They can't both go in row 1, so at least one (or both) must go in row 2. Thus you can fill in C17R2. One of the remaining 1s in row 1 must go in C18, so the 2 in row 2 can be placed. I guess that is a form of smile logic.

I see what I guess is a pixel peeking out at an intersection of 4 squares (I see 2 eyes, anyway). And I see the 8 and the 1. I just don't get the joke. If this is supposed to be a webpbn puzzle, then joe must have oriented his clues to be on the right side of the puzzle.
