Puzzle Description:

Yes folks, it's the symbol used for a while to denote "The Artist Formerly Known as Prince." If only purple was available as a color on webpbn!

Inspired by Teresa's puzzle #7491.

Some background:

I live near Minneapolis, MN, where Prince has a home and recording studio (Paisley Park). Several years ago I worked at a bookstore, and Prince would periodically come in to shop just before closing time, arriving in his purple Plymouth Prowler, and usually dressed in head-to-toe purple velvet with purple spike-heeled shoes (he's very petite). The first time he came in while I was working, I saw him from behind and didn't recognize him right away. I approached him to ask if he needed help finding anything and almost called him "Ma'am" before I realized who he was and caught myself! How embarrassing that could have been, LOL! Especially since he was one of my favorite artists when I was a teenager. I must say, he was always very polite and never demanded any star treatment at the store.

And now I've got "Purple Rain" stuck in my head!

Embarrassing for him, not for you Sallie! Thanks!

"I saw him from behind and didn't recognize him right away." -- Did you have many customers who dressed in purple velvet and purple heels? Funny story, and nice to know he does "real people" things like browsing in bookstores.

He's the smallest giant in business. Love his "Song from the heart" in Happy Feet.
Cool puzzle, Sallie!

Some rock journalist once asked Eric Clapton what it felt like to be the best guitarist in the world. He said "I don't know, you'll have to ask Prince."

It's nice when you learn something as well as play.
