Wow. Really nice image. And of course you come up with the most clever titles! :-) This was really difficult to solve, but I did enjoy the challenge. I used edge logic on the left to get the lower left solved. I tried using edge logic on the top row, but still had three possibilities for the placement of the three. I tried looking ahead and could not tell for sure. So I guessed, and I guessed right. Yeah!

Ditto #1.

Found to be logically solvable by Gator.
#4: Gator (Gator) on Sep 10, 2009 [HINT]
Very hard one. I will have to solve this one again to see everything I did, but only one look ahead was required.
#5: Jota (jota) on Sep 10, 2009
Thank you guys!
Gator: I've had an 11 day intensive course on "edge logic" with # 42 WCP. I'm proud to have learned something.
#6: Teresa K (fasstar) on Sep 10, 2009 [HINT]
Gator, I'd like to see how you did it with only one look ahead.
#7: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 10, 2009
100% ditto #6. I am sure he will post something along the lines of "deep edge logic."

Very nice looking image, though.
#8: Gator (Gator) on Sep 11, 2009 [HINT]
Well, I started with the edge logic on row 1. You can dot out all cells except the right 6.

I started next on column 2. You can dot out rows 2-9 and 29-30 with edge logic.

Now look at column 3. Using edge logic again, you can dot out rows 2-6.

Now column 4. Edge logic will let you dot out rows 2-8.

You will be able to fill in about 1/3 of the puzzle now with line logic.

Now here is a hard one. Focus on row 3. The 5 clue in that row can go in columns 6-12 and 14-26 as possible places. But I want to focus on trying to put in 6-12. No matter how you would try to place it in 6-12, columns 8-10 would be filled in. The 6 and 8 clues in columns 8 and 9 would cause blacks in row 4. The 1 clue in column 10 would cause a dot in row 4. This would make row 4 invalid. So the 5 clue in row 3 cannot go in columns 6-12.

The rest will solve out with line logic. So, not that deep at all.
#9: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 11, 2009
Just at that one spot, is it deep.
#10: Teresa K (fasstar) on Sep 11, 2009 [HINT]
The 5 in Row 3 was a real brain strain for me. That stretches edge logic to the limit. Thanks for explaining how you did that.
#11: Shae (shaekin) on Sep 11, 2009 [HINT]
I actually was able to solve it without guessing or looking ahead. I think I must have used the edge logic like Gator explained it (deep edge logic?). I don't think I had any spot where I was cursing the puzzle or it's maker. Great job!
#12: Jota (jota) on Sep 11, 2009
Thanks Shae! :-)
#13: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 11, 2009
Stretching edge logic vs. trial and error is such a gray area.
#14: Jota (jota) on Sep 11, 2009 [HINT]
1. Place at least 8 of the 9 on Column 1
2. Blank most of Row 1
3. Place as much of the 13 on Row 4 as you can
4. Blank as many spaces as you can on Row 2
5. Blank as many spaces as you can on Row 3 to place the 5

Sit back an enjoy! I am SO proud!

How bizarre...
#16: Jota (jota) on Sep 11, 2009
What?
#17: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 11, 2009
No te preocupes...
#18: Jota (jota) on Sep 11, 2009
What's bizarre?
#19: Beth (Shasta) on Sep 13, 2009
Very fun and great image! Thanks! You guys are so funny the way you analyze the puzzles.

LOL, Robyn. Jota was asking what I was referring to that was bizarre, not what the word means. :-)

#22: Robyn Broyles (ginkgo100) on Sep 14, 2009
OK, now I have turned red! =)
#23: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 14, 2009
:-)
#24: Jota (jota) on Sep 14, 2009
OK 'm laughing but still don't know what Adam meant.
#25: Jane Doe (telly) on Sep 29, 2009
I finally finished this one. I forgot I had some in my saved box. I don't know if it stumped me in the beginning, but coming back to it only 1/4th done wasn't bad at all. I used some edge logic but mostly just line logic.
Very nice image and so much fun to solve!
#26: Jota (jota) on Sep 30, 2009
Thanks Telly.
#27: John Breckenridge (jbrecken) on Oct 8, 2009
A tough one, but worth it.

Thanks so much John!

Thanks Bugaboo!

Thanks!
#33: Susan (Susan) on Jun 11, 2017
Challenging enough I gave in and guessed, but still enjoyed it very much. Well made puzzle and clever image.
#34: CB Paul (cbpaul) on Feb 22, 2018
Silly me! I thought there'd be some red in this. OK, let's see what we've got.
