Is this the game "pick-up-sticks?" I like that game. Otherwise, I don't know what the heck this is supposed to be. :-)
#2: John H (HarperJandS) on Jun 21, 2008
Why does it matter what it's supposed to be? If it says it's "lines upon lines", it's lines upon lines. The solving requires patience and is totally logical, and at the same time superbly satisfying. Well done!
#3: Jan Wolter (jan) on Jun 21, 2008 [SPOILER]
I like the puzzle too. Sure, the image is abstract, but it's fun to solve and an attractive image.

Though I also like the idea that it represents a game of pick-up-sticks.
#4: John Ebert (JohnEbert512) on Jun 21, 2008
Yeah, this is not a cool picture, but for some reason it was fun to solve.
#5: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Jun 21, 2008
Chill out Harpoonie...

I agree with John Ebert. By the way, how was your vacation?
#6: m2 (mercymercy) on Jun 21, 2008
I don't know if it was logically solvable.. I just jumped to intuition from the beginning. Too lazy to look for logic on this one.

This really was inspired by my kids lack of cleaning skills when it comes to the pick-up-sticks. I enjoy pictures that are not symetrical and need extra thinking. Thank you for the comments, even if you didn't like the picture.
#9: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Jun 22, 2008 [SPOILER]
It was fine. I like asymmetrical puzzles. And I WAS right about it being pick-up-sticks... totally recognizable.
#10: Jane Doe (telly) on Jun 22, 2008 [SPOILER]
This IS a fun game...and finally, a fun pattern to solve. Thanks flyingp.
#11: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Jun 22, 2008
gee...flyingp gives a visual!
#12: Meg Smith (mamadragonfreak) on Jun 23, 2008 [SPOILER]
after a logical start, i made one guess, or edge logic trial, that led to the correct solution. it looked to me like a jumble of "rick-rack". i love the asymetric solution.
#13: Gypso (Gypso) on Jun 27, 2008 [SPOILER]
This is the coolest abstract "lines" type puzzle yet! The blue at the top looks like a pair of scissors and the black and red at the bottom look like dancing stick figures.

That it's a game of pick-up-sticks is even cooler (great eye Doc Boy).

Thanks for the neat puzzle. Fun to solve too! :-)

Congratulations on posting your first puzzle. What a great start. I am assuming that you haven't posted before under another name. While on that subject, what name would you prefer being called? Flying Princess or FlyingP?

I look forward to more of your work.
Thanks again! ^>^
#14: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Jun 27, 2008
Thx Gypso.
#15: Arduinna (arduinna) on Jul 1, 2008
I don't know... Naneki might have a point about the bad image "FlyingP" brings up... I'd go with Flying Princess or FP, but it's your call. ;)

Doc (I thought it was going to be Doc Banana!), I think your smiley face TOTALLY covers your tail. To me smileys (or, my preference, winkies) automatically say, "I'm just kidding, so please don't get mad!"

Okay, now I should actually go solve the puzzle. Sometimes I get curious and read the comments when there are this many. And I don't mind being spoiled (no double meaning there-- I'm not spoiled).
#16: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Jul 1, 2008
being spoiled brings up another visual...& the smell, boy! sorry couldn't resist :o
#17: Arduinna (arduinna) on Jul 1, 2008
Not the kind of spoiled I meant-- but I'm not that kind EITHER! (I hope... is THAT why people are avoiding me???)

Ok-- finished the puzzle, and I have to say, it was a satisfying puzzling experience. Thank you very much, Your Highness!
#18: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Jul 1, 2008
lol
#19: Gypso (Gypso) on Jul 1, 2008
Don't worry Arduinna. You are too refreshing to be spoiled. :-)
#20: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Jul 1, 2008
All of you are sooooo nice; how could any of you be spoiled, (rotten or otherwise)?
#21: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Jul 1, 2008
Ahhhh your just to sweet!
#22: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Jul 1, 2008
I try. Sometimes it's to a fault, but oh well.
#23: Jane Doe (telly) on Jul 3, 2008
lol, you're all syrupy (sweet).
#24: Sunset Smiley (sunsetsmiley) on Jul 17, 2008
Very interesting.
#25: Flying Princess (flyingprincess) on Jul 25, 2008
I am impressed with the interest in my first puzzle. I am proud of it's abstractness and asymmetricness.

I prefer my complete name (never been one for nicknames).

Check out my second puzzle, too.

FlyingPrincess

Pick up sticks was the first thing I thought of, too.
Took me quite a while to solve, but it can be done logically. Thanks!
#27: bugaboo (bugaboo) on Sep 7, 2010
really fun to solve
#28: Bill Eisenmann (Bullet) on Apr 5, 2019
One of the funnest solves on this site!
#29: Koreen (mom24plus) on Sep 4, 2020
I found this to be a very satisfying solve, including the finished picture, and I didn't read anything further into it than the title, assuming it to be abstract. I was pleased that it wasn't boring or symmetrical.
