Puzzle Description:
A test of my theory that it takes little more than two headlights and a windshield to make a blob recognizable as a car. Not entirely a successful test - I need to squint at it.
#1: Mark Conger (aruba) on Oct 28, 2004 [SPOILER]
Maybe it's a stretch limo?#2: theo van emmen (theo) on Dec 21, 2004
I think it is rather succesful#3: zandperl (zandperl) on May 24, 2005 [SPOILER]
You're right that headlights and windshield make it easily recognizable, but the back looks a little blob-ish.#4: becky Jo Baltenberger (soccer5) on Oct 7, 2006
I agree i think it is rather sucessful and i think you did a good job#5: Gypso (Gypso) on Jul 21, 2007 [SPOILER]
Looks a little like a limo. I like how you didn't go for the easy box shaped image. So what if it's a little blob-ish, it makes a more realistic image. Thanks Jan :)#6: J.C. Anderson (jc.noserdna) on Aug 24, 2007 [SPOILER]
The title helps a ton. Once the idea is planted, the brain carries the thought and shapes sensory input to conform to the idea. It IS a car.#7: Arduinna (arduinna) on Sep 23, 2007
I see it!#8: Scott C (estray98) on Sep 19, 2008 [SPOILER]
vroooom, thx for the puzzle =>)#9: Byrdie (byrdie) on Nov 22, 2008
My first attempt at a puzzle larger than 10 x 10. Took some thinking. The title had me thinking I knew what I was looking for and I'm satisfied with the outcome. Good puzzle.#10: Cynthia D. Price (cdprhys) on Nov 26, 2008 [SPOILER]
I agree that the back end could use a bit of work in reshaping, especially around the rear tire, but I got immediately that it was a car, once I got the front end aligned, so to speak. ;) I didn't even read the title until I saw it referenced in the comments, by the way. I seldom look at the titles, as I, more oftne than not, simply hit the button for a random puzzle and start working.#11: Jan Wolter (jan) on Jan 14, 2009 [SPOILER]
Also, I'm glad I don't typically read comments until I'm finished with a puzzle, because a lot of the comments that are spoilers/hints here aren't labeled as such.
I re-solved this puzzle while debugging some code, and couldn't believe what a bad job I did on the back end of this poor vehicle. It looks like it recently got chased by a T-Rex and didn't entirely get away. What was I thinking?#12: Deana L (ffswife) on Jan 14, 2009
you were testing a theory... that's what you were thinking. :)#13: Emily Brown (WallyBobo) on Jun 22, 2009
I like it quite a lot!#14: Linda Martin (ilovethispuzzle123) on Mar 6, 2010 [SPOILER]
it looks like a line of oncoming traffic and I think it's great.#15: Ron Jacobson (shmily999) on Aug 29, 2010
Nice job.#16: Diana W (aeris) on Feb 3, 2011 [SPOILER]
I recognized it right away, but that might be because of the title. Good job on testing the theory, the fact that it's a little malformed might actually help that.#17: Preston Aldrich (TaeKwonDoguy) on Apr 19, 2012 [SPOILER]
Oncoming traffic is going to be on the other side of the road in most places ;)#18: Elias Crosby (Crazyapple) on Jan 1, 2014 [SPOILER]
Minivan, maybe ;)#19: Norma Dee (norm0908) on May 24, 2014
Articulated van?#20: Greggo (Greggo) on Nov 20, 2017
I agree, good job.
