Marie-Louise, I hope I didn't step on your pointed tows with this one (more of a description in the first spoiler).

I've read quite a few of Louis L'Amour's books. In more than one of his novels, he related that a cowboy, camping out in the field will reach for his hat before he taps his boots out.

Also, this puzzle is not one of the easier ones. I hope you find it enjoyable to figure out.

Excellent Stetson! It was simple enough to solve with a lot of edge logic.

No worries Joseph, I am going a bit slow with this series, I probably will do a hat, but with a different perspective, I really like your one, if I can't do mine, then I will be happy to know there is a really great hat here, like you said, a cowboys hat is his most essential item :)

what a crazy tough solve!
did i miss something easier (this is only 1+ on difficulty)
i used edge logic everywhere i could and about gave up but i think i solved it without guessing
great hat by the way

did you really just put "step on your pointed tows"? you read that and went, "yup, that's right."

LOL, i'm sorry Joseph,i screwed up,it doesn't change the fact that it's a great hat,very well done Joseph,and thank you for the compliment about being a great puzzler,i'm sure you meant from a creative standpoint,as everyone knows i couldn't solve my way out of a paper sac,lol. Good thing you didn't say solver,bugaboo would of fell off his chair laughing,right bug.:)

Really nice image. I got hung up on the solve though, and had to make an educated guess on the edge logic.

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by blurglecruncheon.

It is a great illustration, and I like the point of view. I did have to guess 3 times, including to even get started.

What a GREAT hat!...but I don't understand the pun on tows/toes...and I'm normally pretty good with puns.

Even if it's a typo (see #9 and #11)...I still am struggling with it being a pun. Is Marie-Louise a ballerina?...or is Joseph maybe referring to a witch's pointed shoes?...or perhaps he thinks/knows she wears pointed cowgirl boots? Lol...I know I am making kind of a big deal about this, but it bugs me...(she said pointedly)
