Requires a wee bit of edge logic :)#2: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Sep 21, 2011
Very cute.#3: Kristen Vognild (Kristen) on Sep 21, 2011 [HINT]
Cute! Edge logic on the bottom row, but no guessing.#4: bugaboo (bugaboo) on Sep 21, 2011
i agree on the no guessing part#5: Teresa K (fasstar) on Sep 21, 2011 [HINT]
but i had to use edge logic in several places
even after solving the puzzle and coming to read these comments and retrying it only using edge logic on the bottom row i couldnt solve it with just that
what did i miss?
Cute image. Challenging solve. Great fun!#6: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Sep 21, 2011 [HINT]
I had the same experience as Bugaboo: Edge logic on the bottom only got me so far. I had to use it a few other places too. The left side was particularly tricky, but doable with no guessing.
same here...cute puzzle, lots of edge logic.#7: Gator (gator) on Sep 21, 2011 [HINT]
This is the edge logic I used...#8: Web Paint-By-Number Robot (webpbn) on Sep 21, 2011
After the initial line logic, use edge logic with the 11 clue in row 11 to make R20C18-R20C20 dots. More line logic.
Edge logic with the 8 clue in column 20 to make R1C20 and R17C20-R19C20 dots. A little more line logic.
I then used edge logic with the left 5 clue in row 1 to make R1C1-R1C2 dots. Also edge logic can be used with the 5 clue in column 1 to make R2C1-R3C1 dots.
I then noticed some more edge logic in column 20 when you see the effects in column 18. Starting from the bottom (R16 now), if R13C20-R15C20 are black, then R13C18 and R15C18 are dots and R14C18 is black. But this makes column 18 invalid as there would be no way to put in the two 2 clues. So R15C20-R16C20 are dots. The rest finished with line logic.
Great puzzle to solve!
Found to be logically solvable by gator.#9: Marie-Louise Ambrey (marz71) on Sep 21, 2011
I hoped you would come to the rescue Gator, thank you :)#10: Levi Ross (rhodyboy888) on Sep 21, 2011 [HINT]
Thanks all :)
I used all the edge logic I could and then was stumped. I then used extended logic on the 11 at the bottom and that cracked it. Tough solve. Good puzzle.#11: Al LaPointe (kancamagus) on Sep 22, 2011
nice tricky one, had to pay full attention :)#12: Marie-Louise Ambrey (marz71) on Sep 22, 2011
Thanks Levi and Al :)#13: Susan Duncan (medic25733) on Sep 24, 2011
