Edge-Logic in C25 helps you solve this one

I didn't see the edge logic clue at first. But I did look at the top clues and figure it would be diagonal. "WCP logic" told me it would go from upper left to lower right. Thanks for the hint on how to do it with real logic. :-)

Thanks for your entry Kai.
The 8 in C23 did it for me w/o looking ahead.

It took me a while to find a starting point, but once I chose the correct corner it solved easily.

PS - I love the title. :-)

i also started with the 8 in c23 (getting 4 dots at the top and thereby dotting everything to the right of that area)
then edge logic on the 7 in c25 and it solved out
no guessing

:/

I used some rather advanced edge logic or elimination logic to get started. From there it solve rather easily. I'm still on the fence as to whether or not that form of trial and error is guessing so I chose not to answer the solvability question.

thanks for entry, Kai

bugaboo has it right. To explain in a little more detail:

The eight clue in column 23 works (starting at the top) because looking one move ahead, you will see that R3C22-R6C22 and R8C22 would have to be black. This makes column 22 invalid though as there is only a 5 clue there. So R1C23-R3C23 have to be dots. With the 8 clue moved a little further down, R4C23 would also have to be a dot. You can then dot to the right of these 4 dots with line logic.

Next using edge logic with the 7 clue in column 25 (starting at the top), you will cause column 22 to be invalid. You will be able to make R5C25-R9C25 dots. Keep moving down the column, but now column 23 will be made invalid. R10C25-R15C25 have to be dots.

It solves normally from there.

Fun logic.

Found to be logically solvable by gator.

Thanks, Gator!

This was really hard to get started, but once I got the edge logic in C25, I was fine.
