Puzzle Description:

Pears. One of my favorite fruits. They are very messy to peel and cut up though.

Eat pear with the skin for the fiber and also because chlorogenic acid (antioxidant) tends to accumulate in pear skin.

Seckel pears are very good cooked.

Gator- I'd have thought your favorite "pear" would be the avocado. ;)

A farmer told me that if you chill a pear first, it won't be "grainy". He didn't say if it depends on the type of pear. great pear puzzle, Gator.

If the knife is sharp, and the fruit not too soft, then it is an easy thing to pare a pair of pears.
#19: M Dandene (SnarkyBear) on Oct 30, 2018 [SPOILER]
You don't slice a pear, you pare a pear. Hopefully you can pare a pair at at time, as the only thing better than a pear is a pair!
#20: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Oct 31, 2018
Yes, please!

I love pears...ripe pears, soft juicy and sweet. Lately I have noticed people think pears are ready to eat even if they are crisp to bite into, like apples. Do you think pears are better to eat ripe or unripe?
#22: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Nov 1, 2018
It depends on the type. Some can very very hard when ripe (though I prefer the soft ones). https://usapears.org/pear-varieties/
#23: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Nov 2, 2018
I like pears but they seem to go from unripe to ripe to overripe in a matter of minutes. Eating a ripe pear is not for the uncommitted.
