Thanks, Aldege. They said the rental ones used on the tour maxed out at 10 mph, but the speedometer on mine said 10.4 at one point. Some of them go faster, and some have different tires and suspensions for more challenging terrain. We were only on concrete, asphalt, or brick walkways.
