I love this. I knew what it was from the title, but I thought it was particularly well executed (hee...executed...poor little kitty paw prints).#2: bugaboo (bugaboo) on Apr 11, 2011
Ironic that this puzzle was done by Kit E. Katz.
My son has a t-shirt from thinkgeek that says on the front, "Schrödinger's cat is dead" and on the back, "Schrödinger's cat is not dead." :D
guess i was sick the day they taught that in school#3: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Apr 11, 2011
Fun! Nice solve.#4: Susan Duncan (medic25733) on Apr 12, 2011
I'm with you bugaboo - I have no idea what they are talking about. Great puzzle anyway#5: Kit E. Katz (hello) on Apr 12, 2011 [SPOILER]
For those unfamiliar with Schrödinger's cat, a short explanation can be found here: http://www.mtnmath.com/faq/meas-qm-3.html#6: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Apr 12, 2011
thx for entry Kit...when i went to school we learned that cats meow, drink milk, hunt for mice & birds,,,thats about it :)#7: Kit E. Katz (hello) on Apr 12, 2011
No Quantum Physics for Mew?#8: Jota (jota) on Apr 12, 2011
Thanks for a creative entry!#9: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Apr 12, 2011

Lizteach - I have that t-shirt too. I inevitably end up having to explain it whenever I wear it.#12: Byrdie (byrdie) on Apr 13, 2011
An interesting interpretation and solve. It's up to the judges but I would say, strictly speaking, it doesn't meet the requirement of a blue square.#13: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Apr 13, 2011
Ditto #1, except that I have merely coveted the T-shirt :)#14: Teresa K (fasstar) on Apr 14, 2011
:-D @ Liz "well executed"#15: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Apr 14, 2011
Fun puzzle.
I do see a blue square - the big one bottom left. Although it is filled in with a combination of blue and white, there is a blue square there.
There are literally hundreds of blue squares: 2x2, 3x3, 4x4... :)#16: Wombat (wombatilim) on Apr 14, 2011 [SPOILER]
I have the t-shirt as well.#17: Teresa K (fasstar) on Apr 15, 2011
Amusingly enough, my dad's dog got ahold of it before he could give it to me, so when I received it, the "is alive" side had the collar torn up. He offered to replace it, but I thought the particular damage was amusing enough to keep it that way.
:-D
