Puzzle Description:
"Hunger is the best pickle" That's a pitiful representation of a growling stomach. This aphorism comes directly out of Poor Richard's Almanack, first published by Ben Franklin in 1732. Pickles were used as appetizers in his day.

this started out looking like a typical fasstar puzzle with the solid black border and it being divided in half#2: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Mar 24, 2011 [SPOILER]
it looked like the guy got shot and his stomach was squirting out blood
haha
very nice pickle though
perhaps I should change the color of the grumbles :)#3: Susan Duncan (medic25733) on Mar 25, 2011
I knew exactly what you were representing in the left hand picture although I didn't know the aphorism. Didn't even know what aphorism meant! Good puzzle#4: Teresa K (fasstar) on Mar 31, 2011
I saw "stomach ache" and thought maybe pickles would be a cure for that. Interesting aphorism. Fun puzzle. I hope you make more of these, Kristen.
