i kept looking at this over and over again trying to figure out if i was supposed to be looking at the black on white or white on black

then i realized this is indeed white on black but UPSIDE DOWN

it all depends on one's point of view. up can be down, or maybe even sideways. great puzzle! my esposo was looking over my shoulder while I was solving it and said "well, that looks like a map of the world upside down"

I always think of north as up and south as down...so this is definitely upside down to me. :)
fun though.

It took me a bit to figure it out, then I had to smile. Fun puzzle, clever idea.

HUGE pop on placing the last pixel. Could NOT for the life of me figure out the image even 95 % completed, but since it's a kristen puzzle, I knew it had to be great, satisfying and everything else we do these large puzzles for. Last pixel went in, and BOOM there it was, even before seeing the caption. I'm assuming McArthur's is an Australian company, mate?
And speaking of geographic extremes ... (I doubt anyone is even going to read this, cuz it's a new comment on an old puzzle, BUT ...) the easternmost point in the continental United States (mainland) is West(!) Quoddy Head, Maine. And also, the easternmost point in all of the US is in Alaska (because it crosses the international date line (or, more accurately, 180 degree longitude line, cuz the IDL jigs and jags a little bit), where far west becomes (very) far east! It's at the end of the Aleutian Island chain, and it lies just west of the westernmost point in the US.
And yes, there is an East Quoddy Head, and it is in fact east of West Quoddy Head, so why? Cuz it's in Canada!

For me, it's a nickname that goes all the way back to college. I tend to talk fast, and a roommate said, in a crowd, "Man, you faster than a speeding bullet - you're Bullet Bill." It stuck.
