Puzzle Description:

What is Watson?

#1: bugaboo (bugaboo) on Feb 16, 2011

i dont have a clue what this puzzle is (it looked like colored sperm fighting over an egg haha)
but it was fun to solve (as are most of your puzzles)
i started with color logic on the red then ended up with the green diagonal part in the center
i am still not sure on the solvability of "diagonal logic"
but you can see it will be a diagonal
normally you cant tell which way it will go but in order to get 1 green pixel under the red in column 8 it has to go top left to bottom right which i call "visual color logic" haha

It was man versus computer this week on Jeopardy! Watson the IBM computer was too large to fit behind the lecturn of the answer and question game show so they created an avatar which I've tried to picture for you here. Watson took on two of Jeopardy's greatest champions and soundly defeated them both in a two game match stretched out over the last three days. Very exciting for a Jeopardy wonk like myself.

Great representation, Brian. I, too, enjoyed the Jeopardy man vs. machine challenge. I was routing for the guys!

Elementary my Dear Watson.

Good job, Brian. I knew from the title what to expect, but I agree with bugaboo about the sperm, perhaps through a microscope.

I already know what the image is without solving. =D Looks like guessing is required, I'll look at it another time.

Nice one Brian!
#12: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Feb 18, 2011
Thank you Jota. Did you watch the show?
#13: Jota (jota) on Feb 18, 2011
I did, I was impressed by the odd choices Watson had to pick from once in a while.
#14: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Feb 18, 2011
I really thought he would make more wild mistakes. I was at least hoping for a close game.
#15: Joel Lynn (furface1) on Feb 18, 2011 [SPOILER]
I just noticed that the puzzle title was written like a Jeopardy clue and the description was in the form of a question. Clever, Brian!
#16: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Feb 18, 2011
Thank you Joel.
#17: Sarah Andrews (sarah) on Feb 19, 2011 [SPOILER]
I really wanted to watch the shows but we don't get that channel. Does anyone know if the entire show is on the Internet?

Part 2 is a related video. This is Day 3 of 3, the second and final game. They wanted to talk about Watson a bit so played Game 1 over two days.

Thanks for the link Bryan. It was great to watch!

What a fun puzzle! I thought it was very well designed. The logic was tricky but not frustrating, and the image was a nice reward. Clever title/description. Great job, Brian.

Thank you Teresa
