Found to be logically solvable by Gator.
#2: Gator (Gator) on Jan 5, 2011 [HINT]
Edge logic on the 6 clue in column 19 lets you completely place it. You can then finish the black with line logic. You will need alternating smile logic on the bottom two rows to complete the blue. Very nice puzzle!

Yes, Gator is right! And smile logic is always a pleasure.
#4: Jota (jota) on Jan 5, 2011
Thanks for making me smile a lot!
#5: Liz P (lizteach) on Jan 5, 2011 [HINT]
Love this puzzle. The blue on the bottom almost stymied me until I realized what was going on (I didn't know to call it "alternating smile logic," however.)

Liz - see #6542 and #6574.

Excellent puzzle! The logic was so much fun. You did a great job designing this one, Kadou.

great image and fun solve
#9: Bryan (Cyclone) on Jan 5, 2011 [HINT]
Regarding the hints, the blue at the bottom does start out difficult. I misread the numbers on the bottom row at one point, but I took a risk when I noticed the following analysis:

- all the blue 1s along the columns
- the bottom two rows added to 20

Knowing what to do with the blue 3,2,1 section, I gambled on an alternating layout between those rows given the following:

- ignoring the solved 3,2,1 segment, three blue 2s in the columns add to 6
- the remaining other blue row clues are six 1s (also 6)

The gamble paid off as I later found out after solving the ray itself. The black 6 then needed the edge logic as Gator says, and that's all she wrote.

Interestingly, later I looked at the water and noticed that I could have started placing the two blue 3s in the bottom row after solving the 3,2,1 segment.

The answer is 67. =)
#19: Meira Bracha (mbracha) on Jan 19, 2011
I needed guessing for the blue. I need to study the earlier comments to figure out the "smile logic". Nice puzzle.
