Found to be logically solvable by Gator.
#2: Gator (Gator) on Dec 15, 2010 [HINT]
Two-way logic for this one. Look at either column 2 or 4, or row 2 or 4.

Thank you Gator. Nice one.
#4: Teresa K (fasstar) on Dec 15, 2010
Very cool, Gator. I was hoping you would make one that would challenge us to think. :-)

Or tilt your head to the right, and it's a spinning top :)

Thanks all.

I guess I'm not very creative, all I see is a kite...

Nice and challenging.
#13: Gator (Gator) on Jan 13, 2011 [SPOILER]
Or really small (black?) hearts in a pattern. :)

Thanks Diana!

It could be the board to a game I've never heard of.
Nice challenge, Gator.

Wow! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought it was amazingly hard for a 5x5. Nice quilt block.I think it would be easier to make with fabric than it was here. :) It was fun, though.
#16: Gator (gator) on Jan 16, 2012
Thanks!
#17: Bryan (Cyclone) on Dec 10, 2013
Didn't seem logically solvable to me. But then, that may be just me...
#18: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Dec 10, 2013 [HINT]
Brian, it's on the edge of moderate-lookahead/deep-lookahead. Let's call it extended two-way logic.

Look at the 2 in c2. it can go in either r3-4 or r4-5.
If it goes in:
r3-4: that forces a white in c1r3 which forces the 2 in c1 up into r1
r4-5: that forces a white in c1r5 which forces the 2|1 in c1 into only one position.

Either way, c1r1 must be black.

Then the same thing can be done (rotated) on the 2 in c4.*

Then LL to finish.

---
*Actually it can be done on any of the internal 2s -- the ones in c2, c4, r2 or r4.
