Fun puzzle, Trish.

We will bang loudly on some pans while neighbors set off fireworks. And we will face the West and say good bye to the old year, letting go of all the guilt and grief that go with the past mistakes and problems. And then we will face the East, and with open arms we will welcome a New Year of hope and abundance and peace.

I am not even going to try and stay up - I have to work New Year's Day so I will be up at 5:00 to welcome in the New Year. Great puzzle Trish and I love your quilt!

Jan 1st is a holiday here in Argentina. No one works. Not a single shop is open! On New Years' eve we use to get together for a big dinner with our families and toast exactly at 12 o'clock. Young people get out after that.

We tend to do something similar here, except young people are out well before 12. Some families spend the evening together, some party.

When my eldest son was allowed to stay up to see the new year in for the first time he was very excited. The clock struck midnight, we watched the ball drop in Times Square, people on our street were setting off firecrackers, then silence. He looked at me and said, "Is that all?" And I thought, "Yes, it is." Just one minute passing to the next. Every minute should be celebrated.

LMAO...

"No son, that's not all. After that minute, we get drunk."

Great puzzle. You had me guessing until the last 3 rows. Very cute.

Cyclone, some people get drunk, and some people drink healthier beverages and actually enjoy the New Year. :-)

Trish, I love your sentiment that every minute we live can be a cause for celebration.
