Puzzle Description:

Lizards that can drop their tail have "fracture planes" spaced regularly down the length of the tail. These are either between vertebrae or in the middle of each vertebra, depending on the species, and it is at these points where the break can occur. Skin, muscles, blood supply, nerves, and bone separate when the tail is dropped. After it falls to the ground, the tail starts to wiggle and move on the ground, hopefully giving the lizard a chance to escape while the predator is focused on the moving tail. thank you, Alison, bugaboo and Jane. Priscilla's tail will grow back, but it'll never look quite the same again.

Thanks very much for sharing this gruesome picture of Priscilla's 'mishap'. Based on what you have taught us she won't have any trouble growing a new one but just another reason to hope Mom doesn't come back anytime soon! Hey did she send that money back to Bob? Excellent puzzle as usual Linda!

Thanks, Susan. :-) Unfortunately, I think she ended up using a sizeable chunk of the money at the vet.

Poor Priscilla. Well at least Predator Bob took responsibility for the mishap.

I like the wiggle on the tail, even if it was creepy.

I'm usually not a squeamish person, but when I think about Pricilla's tail wiggling... ugh. Otherwise, great puzzle. :) Love the blood.

i've had wiggling tails distract me in the past :D

My gecko did that to me. I accidentally dropped his cave near him and he dropped his tail and it was wiggly. I was freaking out! It was very disturbing.

Buen puzzle aunque algo desagradable.
