Beautiful! Do you know why we love squirrels and don't like rats?

enlighten me, Jota

It's all about the tail.

My mom came up with that, sounds much better in spanish.

Clever puzzle - I didn't guess the image at first. As for liking squirrels and not rats ... an association with the kind of person we call a rat? Residual legacy of the plague? Some of us lab rats actually do like rats, although I personally like mice better.
#7: bugaboo (bugaboo) on Jul 20, 2010
thanks for all that white space sensei
#8: Susan Duncan (medic25733) on Jul 21, 2010
I like black squirrels but the red ones are destructive especially in my attic. Nice puzzle

I agree with bugaboo...the image was ok but solving this was predictable and boring. It didn't feel like a sensei puzzle.
#12: Merili (merilinnuke) on Jul 22, 2010
Not enough white for me either, Tom.
(Nice to see you, Adam)

#14: Kai-Uwe Zickerick (conzick) on Jul 24, 2010
white space is overrated ;-)

I don't think distrust of rats comes from the plagues, because at the time nobody knew the rats were involved. I don't think it's the tails either. I think it's habitat. Squirrels stay mostly in the trees. Rats come into your house, scamper around in the night, and eat your food. They are, on the whole, much more likely to invade human's personal space and thus much more likely to raise human ire.
