Puzzle Description:

Dirk Grunyon died at his home in 1867, surrounded by family and friends. After his death, Millie moved to Paris, where she studied painting under the tutelage of Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot. Sadly, she became known more for her fondness of the "green fairy" than for her beautiful oils. She died from pneumonia in 1882 and is buried in Le Cimetiere du Montparnasse.

great puzzle. I enjoyed the solve. :)
Q? what is meant by the green fairy? please excuse my ignorance but I'm curious.
#12: Linda Martin (ilovethispuzzle123) on Jun 28, 2010
hi jane - the green fairy is another term for absinthe, a very potent potable that was popular among french artists, musicians, and intellectuals during the 19th century. it was often an opaque green in color. thanks for asking and thank you so much for solving my puzzle :-)
