Puzzle Description:

The Archean Eon is the second eon in the Precambrian Period. Life was probably present throughout the Archean, but may have been limited to simple non-nucleated single-celled organisms, called Prokaryota (formerly known as Monera).

The first living things on Earth, the single cell prokaryotes (which lack a cell nucleus), probably evolved from protobionts (organic molecules surrounded by a membrane-like structure). The oldest ancient fossil microbe-like objects are dated to be 3.5 Ga (billion years old), approximately one billion years after the formation of the Earth itself.

The sequence of chemical events that led to the first nucleic acids is not known. But there are several theories. Read about abiogenesis here:
