Puzzle Description:

#1: Cynthia Lynn McDaniel (mcaardva) on May 5, 2010 [SPOILER]

I was just going to whine about not knowing what the image was, when the candelabra on the grand piano popped out at me!

light em up Cynthia
#3: bugaboo (bugaboo) on May 5, 2010
it looks like the candle thing is holding up the piano top
#4: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on May 5, 2010

#5: bugaboo (bugaboo) on May 5, 2010

#6: Francie (eicnarf) on May 5, 2010 [SPOILER]
My piano lessons were so disturbing and surrealistic that I used to shudder at the thought of playing. There was the savage barking dog I never saw once in 5 years. There was the atonal mystery of Bartok's Mikrokosmos, where correct notes sounded very similar to mistakes. But worst of all was the ticking of the metronome combined with the print of Salvodor Dali's "The Persistence of Memory" hanging over the piano. http://www.artchive.com/artchive/D/dali/persistence.jpg.html

Thanks Tom.
#9: sdubois (sdubois) on May 5, 2010
I can see Liberace sitting at the piano... :)

Wow, Francie, there's definitely a short story in that!
#10: Francie (eicnarf) on May 5, 2010
My life is a series of short stories. Unfortunately, just as I lacked the self-discipline to practice the piano, I also lack the self-discipline to write.
#11: Francie (eicnarf) on May 5, 2010
(Okay, I admit it, it's self-confidence I lack.)
#12: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on May 5, 2010
Francie, life is a series of short stories, some cool, some yuckie! Just sit and let the pen at hand do its job, then, iffin you like, draw us a picture. :-)
#13: BlackCat (BlackCat) on May 8, 2010 [HINT]
A little too narrow to be a good image, howevwe I enjoyed the solve. It was not predictable until the last stairstep line.
#14: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on May 9, 2010
thanks black cat... maybe i should start doing larger puzzles
#15: Francie (eicnarf) on May 9, 2010
Okay, but don't abandon the small ones. I'm addicted.
#16: Teresa K (fasstar) on May 10, 2010 [SPOILER]
Oh, Francie, that's terrible. Several years ago, my son Chris came to me as a teenager and said, "Mom, I want to learn to play the piano... but I don't want to take piano lessons." I handed him a piano lesson book, and he taught himself. A few years later he had composed enough songs to make a CD Here's one song:

I'm glad now that I didn't push him to take lessons.

That's great Teresa. Thanks for sharing.

Fortunately my flute and recorder teachers were much better and I was able to play in band, orchestra, and a few early music ensembles.
#18: Teresa K (fasstar) on May 10, 2010
Oh good.
#19: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Feb 18, 2011
This puzzle gave me fits, until I realized there were only 4 rows at the bottom. /facepalm
#20: Beth Briggs (YodaTrophy) on Mar 4, 2012 [HINT] [SPOILER]
Very nice song, Teresa.
#21: Teresa K (fasstar) on Mar 4, 2012
