And, no, there are technically no cacti in egypt. There are succulents from a different order, Euphorbia. F'rinstance, http://www.cactuscenter.com/r_4.html .

But there are certainly no saguaro. Sorry, Calvin.

Well, that link died, but it could have been any of the euphorbia on this page:

HOWEVER, there seems to be one branching euphorbia that can look a bit like a saguaro in silhouette: Euphorbia Ingens (the "candelabra tree").

At least it can when it is young. Here's a young one:
