Adam - I don't solve all the new ones, just the WCP puzzles. Otherwise, I've done all the 5x5, 10 x 10 and 15 x 15 puzzles to the point where I'm now just doing them sequentially from the beginning. I think I'm up into the 400s ...

Short answer, no, I guess I've missed whatever comments you've been making on current puzzles.

Anyway, Martin, then I will explain. On several puzzles recently, I have posted nothing in the comment section if I have nothing particular that I want to say. But I still like reading people's comments about these puzzles. This way, I am alerted when people comment on puzzles, without having to have written anything.

Funny - if I complete a puzzle, I see comments that are added after I've completed it even if I haven't commented. But thanks for the explanation. I'm up to date now.

Adam I'm about at a thousand place at the time rigth now so the only thing I'm doing in here is watching over the WCP and just that is taking probably more time that I should be spending in here but its kinda my baby so I can't let it go.
So if you want to reach me somehow comment in a wcp puzzle or one off my old one

Martin, I have the same option as you wrote about ("if I complete a puzzle, I see comments that are added after I've completed it even if I haven't commented.") The only problem is, with 6000+ puzzles solved... well, I am sure you can see what I mean. :-)

It doesn't matter how many you've solved. There's an option on the forum to show only new posts to puzzles you solve. Not all 6000+ puzzles get comments every day or week or month or prolly some that won't get comments ever again.

My theory is that Adam just marks all new puzzles as solved, without actually solving all of them, but he only wants to read comments on the puzzles that he has actually solved. I could probably figure out if this theory is right or not by looking at the logs, but I'm too lazy. It's really up to him.

If this is what he has been doing, then he has broken some parts of the designed functionality of the web site for himself. I can't imagine how he finds puzzles that he hasn't solved to solve. Clearly he's found a workaround for the way it breaks the "read new comments" functionality.

He's certainly not the only user who uses the site in ways different from the way I expected it to be used when I designed it. In this case the impact on other users is pretty minimal, so I don't really care. If he were posting a lot of blank comments to lots of puzzles that nobody else commented on, it could be kind of annoying, but he doesn't.
