Puzzle Description:

#1: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 15, 2009 [SPOILER]

I had no idea what this "blob" was. Then I stepped back, re-read the title, and realized that this was supposed to be a scene from Dirty Dancing (since Patrick Swayze just died yesterday). The shadows almost detract from the image, and his left arm was very difficult to pick out. I am sure this was because the image wouldn't solve, otherwise.

Nice, in a qwirky sort of way.

Here is the image this puzzle was based on: http://uzzytm.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/dirty-dancing2.jpg

After following Adam's link it's quite clear what it is, but before... I had no idea, even if I knew it had to have something to do with Patrick Swayze.

I actually saw it because I could see his right hand, or at least the fingers. Kind of a fun way to look at a picture.
#4: Jane Doe (telly) on Jan 25, 2010
After staring at it, the image popped out at me. Nice job.

Even though your title had that song stuck in my head the entire time I was solving this, because it is so large I didn't notice what the image was until the moment it was finished, and I finally pulled back to see it. Awesome job!
#8: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Nov 8, 2018 [SPOILER]
I guessed from the title that it'd be these two. Then I solved the bigger black blobs and thought, "Is that Jennifer Grey's profile?" Turns out it was, but for a long time I thought her back was *really* broad, until I noticed her arm. Then I thought she was facing Patrick, and wondered where her other arm was. Finally, with all the shadows in their proper places, I had the correct orientation. ^_^

Visually stunning. I love the way you chose to use positive and negative space. This looks like it was tough to perfect.

Love how it pops out at you.
