Puzzle Description:

A well with hand pump. My dad and uncle and older brothers built a summer cabin in the Rocky Mountains west of Denver, when I was very young. We had to pump water and carry it up the hill to the cabin for washing. The water was crystal clear, icy cold, and tasted so good.

Great puzzle! I am aging myself but I faintly remember when one of my aunts had one of these on her back porch! I loved it but could never get it to work on my own. It was something about having to prime it first that I could never get right, but I sure did like to pump it once someone else got it started. My six yr-old grandson just walked in as I finished the puzzle and had no idea what it was. Even after I told him, he seemed a little puzzled. I'm sure he would be as fascinated as I was if he were to see a real one!
