Puzzle Description:

C3PO, Human-Cyborg Relations, from Star Wars. He is fluent in over 6 million forms of communication. This quote was said by C3PO to R2D2, his side-kick droid.

Adam, I can't wait to do this. I do all of your puzzles. Unfortunately, as addicted to them as I am, I have broken my (right) arm and am sticking with the 20 x 20 puzzles until I have use of my dominant hand. Ugh! 6 to 8 weeks.
Til then,
Wendy

Ouch! What happened? Thank you for that compliment, Wendy. I wish you a speedy recovery, and a happy left-handed-puzzle-solving-next-few-weeks as well.
#3: Steve Johnson (swjohnson12) on Feb 5, 2009
Adam - This is so hard. Only 1/3 through but so far solvable w/o guessing. I may have to finish it tomorrow. WOW!
#4: wendy herndon (wendyherndon) on Feb 5, 2009
Other than being a math specialist for highly gifted kids and solving logic puzzles, I am also a dancer. My dance partner had this really cool move to lead: spin, spin, spin, toss behind the back, catch, oops!

Hey, maybe you can create a puzzle of me on my butt on the dancefloor.
#5: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Feb 5, 2009
Steve... hang in there! It is completely logically solvable, but yes it will take a long time.

Wendy... ROFL!!! Not at you personally, but at the description you gave of your unfortunate event. I can sure try to create a puzzle of that, if you want... just send me a picture!

The image shimmers! Great puzzle. With my failing eyesight, I have a really hard time working on the big ones, but I squinted and had my face close to the monitor. It was worth the discomfort to solve such a satisfying puzzle.
#7: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Feb 5, 2009
Thanks a million!
#8: Steve Johnson (swjohnson12) on Feb 6, 2009
Brilliant! Hard too - but completely solvable by logic & sore eyes.
#9: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Feb 6, 2009
WOW..great puzzle & image
#10: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Feb 6, 2009
Thank you both very much. Especially coming from two artists! (wink wink) LOL
#11: tj stein (tjstein) on Feb 6, 2009
Lovely puzzle...fun for a geek like me to solve.
#12: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Feb 6, 2009
Thanks! I think it is fun for anyone (who enjoys large, B/W challenging, logically solvable puzzles) ... geek or non-geek! LOL
:-)
#13: Jane Doe (telly) on Feb 6, 2009
This one took me a while too, but great results! Good job! :)
#14: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Feb 6, 2009
Thanks, Telly.
#15: Tonia Bergh (tonia) on Feb 7, 2009 [SPOILER]
Awesome image! I can't believe I actually stuck with it and completed the whole thing without messing up! I always get lost around the eye area...maybe I should stick with droid faces only! Thanks, Adam, for another fine challenge!

You are welcome. Thank you for the very nice comments.
#17: terry glad (gladman) on Feb 7, 2009
I like the quote, but can you say what scene and episode it was said? :)
#18: terry glad (gladman) on Feb 7, 2009
sorry, nice puzzle too, was fun
#19: Jota (jota) on Feb 7, 2009
I couldn't do any puzzles for 8 days, so I was beginning to feel withdrawal symptoms, thanks to this excellent puzzle I feel much better now.
#20: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Feb 7, 2009
Thanks, both of you. Terry, it was from Episode 4, but I can't remember which scene specifically. I am too tired to try and find out right now. LOL
Jota, welcome back! I am glad to have been of any help.

This is the first puzzle I did while using the beta site with the movable numbers... good thing, that! Nice image.
#22: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Feb 16, 2009
Thanks.
#23: Beth (Shasta) on Feb 18, 2009
Great puzzle-my favorite kind. I had this in my partial saved screen for a while . I found it very smooth to solve-there was always a spot to continue on without doing a ton of counting (usually I get discourages around the nose of the bigger puzzles). Thank you, thank you, thank you!
#24: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Feb 18, 2009
Anytime. Thanks, Beth.
#25: Petra Lassen (Stjarna) on Mar 17, 2009
The beginning was tough, but then it just flowed. Very fun to solve, thank you Adam!

Can it speak Bocci?

There was a question about which scene the quote is from.
Could be after their escape pod landed on Tattooine, when they had an argument about which way to go. Artoo was headed for Kenobi, while Threepio thought it looked far safer to head the other way.

Fun (though long) puzzle btw
#35: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Jul 23, 2020 [SPOILER]
Besmirched -- I googled the quote and found it listed on this page of the best of C-3PO's insults:
https://www.starwars.com/news/6-of-c-3pos-best-insults

It says, "R2-D2 is on the receiving end of several of C-3PO's biting comments. Artoo tolerates his golden friend and though we can't understand R2-D2's exact replies, it sounds like he gives at least as good as he gets. In this case, Threepio is yelling at Artoo about getting into the escape pod on the Tantive IV."

I didn't recognize the name Tantive IV, so I googled it and found that it has a Wikipedia page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tantive_IV

That page says that the Tantive IV was used by Princess Leia in the original episode (Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope) and that it was the first vessel that audiences saw in that movie.

You wanted to hear all that. Right?

Yes, we did!
#37: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Jul 27, 2020
Dave, thanks for your patience!
#38: Aurelian Ginkgo (AurelianGinkgo) on Jul 27, 2020
It's really not a long read. What patience is needed? Cool trivia.
