Hardest one ever- but workable! Thanks Jan!
#5: Mark Conger (aruba) on Nov 2, 2005
There went *that* afternoon. I think Sheri might be right - I don't remember a harder puzzle in the database.

Very hard. Glad I had the grey-out in this one. Must have been horrendous to solve before you added that feature.

In #2 you wrote: Another problem is that I still don't have yellow in the Paint-by-Number color palette.
Are you adding more colours some day?

There is also another way of changing the puzzles. With pixels only half coloured (triangle) you are able to make a puzzle more detailed. (maybe just in black)
Only a suggestion, I have seen it elsewhere on the internet.

I do not think I want to go with a huge number of colors. You start getting puzzles with dozens of colors, and I do not think that that results in very good puzzles. But I would like to add a few more colors. I would love to have yellow, but yellow clue numbers on a white background would be nearly impossible to read. I would have to change the puzzle design substantially, maybe doing clue numbers on black, red, blue, green or yellow backgrounds. I am not entirely sure I want that though. So I am a bit stuck.

So if I find a solution to this that I like, I might add a few other colors - yellow, brown, orange, purple, but probably not lots of different shades of each color. Though one or two shades of gray might be nice...

I do not actually understand how puzzles with half-colored squares would work.

Firefox 2.0 has gone into a goofy state where it will not let me type apostrophes. A real pain. I keep seeing minor glitches with this new Firefox.

I agree strongly about the amount of colours. Yellow would be nice after all. Maybe a colour between yellow and orange, and you make the numbers bold, you might not have to change the background yet. Brown would be ok too.

Annoying about the new Firefox. Typical whith updates.

I can`t explain in english, how it works with triangles. Easyer you see for yourself.

Then press the orange flower... Then "Guest Page"
Then you can see bl.a. "Tiny Cat" build with triangles.

If you decide to use triangles one day, I think it shall only be a feature available in black.

Your decision, I just wanted to tell you about the oppertunities.

This puzzle was BRUTAL. The most difficult one I have done so far. Took me 2 erasures and 3 days to complete. Did not have to guess, but it was tough.

Well done!

Wow, really difficult puzzle. Wonderful brain-teaser. I had to use all sorts of logic on this one!

Way too hard and it's really hard to follow. I finally solved it after three weeks.

When I realized what this was I quit as I don't like the painter or painting because he/it says nothing.

I loved doing this...didn't take me long. I miss you, Jan. How I wish....
#24: Joanne Firla (JoFirla) on Aug 28, 2018
Took me a while. Kept saving and coming back to it. But I saw it was from Jan and so I knew it would be possible to solve without using the hint button. If only... Rest in peace.
