Puzzle Description:

"The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist." -quote from the film The Usual Suspects (1995)

Nice quote and so true :)

I always end up wanting to go re-watch the movies that people use for their puzzles! It surprises me how similar our many tastes are- thanks for another good puzzle.

Excellent puzzle Marcus. Took me 4 tries! A terrifically fun challenge. This gets high marks from me.
Thank you so much. :D

Really challenging for such a small one. And a great quote made into a picture. Not an easy task either! Thanks!
#5: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Apr 6, 2008
wow..great puzzle & quote!
#6: Meg Tayler (rebelcat) on Apr 8, 2008
Excellent, challenging puzzle! I'm really impressed that it's logically solvable, even with all the single squares.

Liked this much...you are a puzzler's puzzler. The dev looks a bit like E.T. don't you think?...or is it just me? lol
#8: Gypso (Gypso) on Apr 10, 2008
You made me look JoDeen. Alas, I think it might be you. ;-) lol
#9: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Apr 11, 2008
I don't see the ET reference "tell me". I want to see it too :)
#10: Francesca (faranda) on Apr 13, 2008
What a wonderful puzzle. Challenging... but it turned out amazing
#11: Alaris Zaaqurin (zephyr) on Apr 30, 2008 [SPOILER]
Looks like a koala bear.

Where I work on the computer I am not able to step back and see the image from several feet away so when I see it close up it doesn't "fall into place" well for me. Close up there is something about the eyes/cheekbones that (to me) is reminiscent of ET.

Today I got back as far as I could and really squinted...voila...no ET...and a very credible pic of Old Nick as many imagine him! Me? I know the devil and he looks nothing like that...my college Shakespeare prof looked like the devil...and graded accordingly!
#13: Arduinna (arduinna) on May 20, 2008 [SPOILER]
I guessed it was the devil as it started coming together, but it also looks like the french fry guy from that weird cartoon on (I think) the Comedy channel. Is it called Aqua Teen Hunger Force? Anyone know? I watched it a few times. Wierd but funny!
#14: Sunset Smiley (sunsetsmiley) on Jul 16, 2008
Creepy! lol
#15: Bionerd (nieboo) on Aug 8, 2008 [SPOILER]
Haha. I know what you are talking about arduinna. My friends made me watch the aqua teen hunger force movie and I want my 2 hours back.
It's the weirdest thing ever. The writers must've been on something while creating it.

As for the puzzle, it's awesome. I like how the face is instantly recognizable yet is faded into the background
#16: Jane Doe (telly) on Aug 24, 2008
ditto most of the comments. this was tricky to solve, but worth it. Nice quote!
#17: Jane Doe (telly) on Aug 24, 2008
btw, don't see the koala or ET, sorry.
#18: Wombat (wombatilim) on Dec 17, 2009
Wow, that is an incredible likeness for a 20x20 puzzle. I had to come back to this one later, but it was definitely worth the trouble.
