We are currentrly at theme #72 in the wcp that mean a great number of puzzle enter of the years. Since the search engine can't work for WC (for older theme) or WCP I decide to list here all the puzzle enter week after week in the WCP

If Jan can add the number of this topic into the main page of the wcp new member (or the no so new) can know where to look for when looking to past wcp puzzle.

I will add to this list each new theme puzzle for futur user

Because of the limitations of the search engine, there doesn't seem to be an ideal solution to finding these puzzles. Searching for a title of "wcp" and search order of "Puzzle Number - Largest First" will bring up the most recent.

However, if people are required to use a 3 digit number, then you could also search on the WCP number. For instance, this WCP's puzzles should be marked WCP 072. That way you could search for "072" and this challenge's puzzles would all appear.

no need anymore since I collect them all in here and will continue to add the other after every theme. I did all the searching manually in my save puzzle it took me all evening last night. But now we have it and its good for the wcp

† Some titles cannot be searched, so they are added as individual puzzle links after the index link. Reasons for not being able to be searched include titles having only short words, or common words. (Eg. "you", "one", "two", "the" etc., but also including "got", "what" and "help" - though not "find", strangely)

It should be possible to easily find only puzzles for a certain challenge. Have you thought about changing the challenge naming convention so that they could easily found?
For example, you could ask everyone to have titles that glues the challenge number with "WCP" (or "WCP#"). This would make for a long enough string of characters for seaching.
i.e.: WCP073 (or WCP#073)

been there done that but old habit die hard, when we switch to wcp from wc for that same purpose it took like 4 theme for people calling it wcp# XXX instead of wc# xxx so. Plus we ask people to change the name of they old puzzle but nobody really took the time to do so ( plus count the fact that many user left this site after awhile so...)

anyway now its done and adding new one each week is not that difficult

The work that was done to get everything listed is huge.
If it takes 4 contests for everyone to get to a standard easy to search format then it's not a problem. Once this is done, searching for puzzles by challenge will be a breeze.

Even if it's not difficult to make the lists, it means going back and forth between the forum and the play puzzle pages, or using a search result link that opens up a page outside a logged in session.

Could Jan have the power to rename old challenge puzzles?

Could we list in the honor tab a link to all the puzzles that participated in each WC?n This to me sounds like the best and simplest solution. I could do it if you allow me to.

This is a great idea! The link could be the actual title itself (i.e. Weekly Challenge #71: Toons). This way the list of puzzles would be in our own logged in session (I hope). We could sort it (I hope). The puzzle(s) selected from the list could be saved when played.

Actually, I found a good way to find them without this topic.

Namely, check what puzzle ID the winning puzzles have. Then search a range of about 200 to each side. Starting at WC#2 works well for this because WC#1 and WC#3 (maybe #4 and #5, not sure) show up in the list. It helps to list them all on one page, no limit per page, to make searching easier for this purpose. Maybe Jan can create a database with just the WC puzzles?

I've actually used this technique to find WC#1 and WC#2 puzzles and print them all (the bigger ones at least, smaller I solve online). I'm currently going back to doing WC#2 puzzles while waiting for WC#74 to start posting.
