I had to guess to solve it. After seeing your hint, I started over, and the hint did not help me.

hopefully others will see my point of view

I'm not good at giving step-by-step guides of how I solved, but here's how I figured out one particular spot that gave me trouble.

I looked at the 5 in C15. If it's all the way down at the bottom, the first five rows of C14 would be dots. That would make all the 5's in R2-5 go into C10, which would create a contradiction with the 2 clue there.

So with that I knew the 5 in C14 had to be at least partly in those first five rows. I filled in C14 R4&5 based on that, and that got me past the difficult spot.

#15: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on May 30, 2013 [HINT]
I used the 2 in c10 when I solved it, like bugaboo and gothicfeline. However, here is the way I used it --

After all line logic is done (not much):

Pseudo-edge-logic on the 2 in c10: No matter where it is placed in the column, there will be at least one white space next to the current black block. That will force at least one 5 over into c15.

That one (or more) pixel in c15 will pin the 4 in that column, meaning that the maximum range of the 4 in c20 is r1-7. So c15r8-13 are white.

Then line logic to finish.

Oh, and if you're having trouble with gothicfeline's hint, when she says C15 she means C14.
