A lot of people had these when I was growing up. We thought they were fascinating. They could do so many things--great on a picnic, for example. My first thought, now, though, was--Don't take it to school! Times have changed so dramatically. We would never have dreamed of hurting our classmates with a Swiss army knife or anything else, for that matter.

I carry a mini one in my pocket all the time. Comes in handy for all sorts of things.

a guy where I work grew up in a rural area....he talks about when kids would bring their new guns to school to show em to their friends. these were hunting rifles and whatnot, ofc, and a long time ago....how times have changed...

Nice puzzle Kurt. Visited Switzerland 2 years ago and bought one for myself and several for Christmas gifts. It keeps ending up not in my pocketbook, however because of having to go through various metal detectors, ie jury duty, airport, etc.

I always have my very large one with me when skiing. Great for on the mountain adjustments. Swiss Army Knife, Duct Tape and WD40 and you can fix about anything...

we always use the phrase "duct tape, baling wire, and bubble gum" here in the Midwest. I hear ya though! One could rig just about anything with those you said, at least temporarily...
