Puzzle Description:

Sushi like I know Sushi

#1: Joel Lynn (furface1) on Apr 1, 2013 [HINT] [SPOILER]

I suppose this is another of those deep edge logic solves. I finished it, but used trial and error for all the black in the bottom part.

I like sushi, glad I don't have to solve puzzles this hard to get some of it.

normally i start out with "after initial ll" but there was none in this case - which i actually find enjoyable in puzzles like these

so after initial cl you should have all the red/green and the black in the upper right corner:

el the 3 clue in c20 to temporarily "dot" r16-17
ll
el the 2 clue in c20 now to dot r17-18
ll
the black pixel you have in r5c14 is part of a 2-clue in that column - whether it extends up into r4 or down into r6, the 1 clue in c13 will also either be in r4 or r6 so you can make r15c13 black and dot the rest of that column except for r4 and r6
ll
look at the 3 black pixels in c11r13-15 if they are the bottom 3-clue in that column then the 4-clue must go immediately above it in r8-11
so using that knowledge as a foundation, use iel on that 4- clue, focusing on c10, to show that the 4-clue can not go in r8-11, and this r12c11 must be black
ll
the black pixel in r19c11 is part of a 2-clue in that row -whether it extends left into c10 or right into c12, the last 1-clue in r20 must also go into the same column so r20c11 is a dot
ll
el the 4-clue in r2 to dot c1
(extended?) el on 4-clue in c9 - place it in r2-5 and immediately try and make c2r2 and c2r4 the dots that they need to be
thus c9r2 is a dot
ll
(extended?) el on the 3-clue in c8 the same way as in the previous step - place it in r2-4 and immediately try and make c2r2 and c2r4 the dots that they need to be
thus c8r2 is a dot
ll
now only the bottom left corner is unsolved
el the 3 clue in c2 to dot r20
ll to finish
no guessing
excellent solve

Wow. That took some deep looking ahead, but I did it! Very clever - in design, title, and description.

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by gator.

Thanks for the walk-through bug. Nice puzzle.

Whew that was tough!

Tough puzzle. Several guesses needed. Didn't like it until I finished it and saw the story. The image is right on.

Can be solved with colour logic and smile logic.
