#7: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Feb 6, 2013
oh....he likes that dark stuff. Guinness and the like...nasty! To each their own though, huh? He wouldn't touch a Corona if you paid him. I think I might be able to swing a 6er or so for ya tonight.....;)
#8: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Feb 6, 2013
How can he drink that crap? I suppose he likes it at room temp too. Yuck,I'd rather drink monkey dung swill,or a good buzzard fizz.lol.:)
#9: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Feb 6, 2013
hahahhha....yep, he's a weird one! the other day, he asked the bartender for "the darkest beer you've got....". She came back with a Michelob Light. I laughed laughed laughed! (as he looked dumbfounded)

ok, I didn't see it happen in real time...but it's still damn funny. I'd have loved to see his face at the moment. He and the gf came up to watch me play on my Wed night league. wish I did see it though! and I did laugh when he came back to the table

I heard that Corona was a third-rate Mexican beer that wasn't selling well, so a clever marketing team made some cool commercials and tripled the price, and it became trendy.

That may or may not be true, as most of my college beer-drinking friends preferred microbreweries. They also liked the dark beers, saying it's like liquid bread and "you're full before you can get drunk."
#14: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Feb 7, 2013
don't much care for trendy or commercials...I like the taste! I'm one of those who almost always stick to the tried and true. Bud and Corona mostly, but other pilsners also that are more like what I'm used to(like Stella, Urquell, Kroenenburg, Peroni, etc)

gotta remember, those here in StL have had AB thrown down our throats our whole lives. many parents, friends, etc worked there so many many drink it out of loyalty alone. personally, I don't like any of em except Bud. the others taste watered down to me and I'll never drink a lite beer. darks and microbrews taste nasty to me.(though we do have a lot of local microbreweries here)

btw...you once asked how we pronounce our state. I forgot to mention what a lot of natives call the city. instead of St Louis, many refer to it as "The Lou". lol

What? You're not a Zima man?
#17: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Feb 8, 2013 [SPOILER]
I don't think I've ever heard a Corona drinker complain that other beers taste watered down. ;)

#18: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Feb 8, 2013
...or a Bud drinker for that matter.
#19: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Feb 8, 2013
hahaha.... you're right. much better than all the lites, ultras, platinums, selects, other assorted bs though :)

Zima...zomething different. zome foof crap

Kurt, I used to go to St. Louis on business. Once, at a bar, I asked if they had any local beers on tap. Of course they said "Budweiser". Not what I was looking for.

My current fave is Yuengling, but I also enjoy Corona, Harp, and now that I live in upstate NY, we sometimes get Genessee.

As an aside, on my visits to St. L., I was introduced to, and acquired a taste for fried ravioli. Yum!
#22: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Oct 3, 2013
mmm, hmmmm...yum! hope you had some gooey butter cake while you were here too. double yum!
#23: Joel Lynn (furface1) on Oct 3, 2013
Didn't hear about that. I'll try to remember it if I get out there again.
#24: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Oct 4, 2013
goooooo Yuengling
#25: Jota (jota) on Mar 1, 2014
