No guessing; edge logic on the bottom, then the rest was line logic, as far as I can remember.

What am I missing? The 5 on the bottom can go from c3-9 without error.

I can place only 7 black pixels before getting stuck.

i gave up and marked it as solved but i couldnt find a truly logical way to solve it without looking several moves ahead

I looked at the clues in the bottom 3 rows, which were classic edge logic: 2 2 5 2 2. The blotted clue in C6 had to be a 1, for the row clues to work.

Call it an educated guess; call it pattern recognition; I can see why this sort of logic wouldn't appeal to the purists among you.

I gave up, and went with the "visual logic" which is not truly logic. Fun puzzle though.

It's not logically solvable at the beginning. You are required to guess on the three bottom rows. Yes, it seems somewhat obvious, but it should not be necessary.

As nobody has given a method to solve this in the last 5 years, I'm going to mark it guessing needed.
