Kurt, Kurt, KURT!!! I really enjoyed solving this puzzle, but you said you weren't going to give any hints for a day...and the one about "the same author" makes the answer simple...don't dooooooo that, please! I love to chew on puzzles, especially hard puzzles...even if I don't get the answer...

...that being said, this image is almost hopeless. Still, you promised no hints for a day.

yeah yeah...sorry. all those comments you read came in like a 3 hour period. hints were given before new rule made. I'll stick to it, I promise... luv to have you solving and guessing and commenting, JoDeen! maybe I can do better with the next one, huh? ;)

I found the image to be pretty clear, and a darn good likeness, based on the link! I guessed it was Atlas Shrugged, too. :)

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by infrapinklizzard.

I was able to do it entirely with line logic. I thought I was going to have to use smile logic in the upper left, but then I didn't.

There is definitely no way to solve this with only line logic. You must look at more than one line/column at the same time.

I just resolved this just out of curiosity after reading Meg's comment. I too solved it easily using only line logic. :)
