yeah yeah...sorry. all those comments you read came in like a 3 hour period. hints were given before new rule made. I'll stick to it, I promise... luv to have you solving and guessing and commenting, JoDeen! maybe I can do better with the next one, huh? ;)#13: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Jan 13, 2013 [HINT]
One can also use simple two-way logic on the 1 in r7-#14: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Jan 20, 2013 [SPOILER]
If it goes in c1, then the 3 in r6 goes into r6c4.
If it goes in c4, then it has to be part of the 5 in c4 and so r6c4 is black.
Either way, r6c4 is black, and the rest is line logic.

thanks, K! :)#16: Web Paint-By-Number Robot (webpbn) on Jun 6, 2013
Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by infrapinklizzard.#17: Bruce Yanoshek (yanogator) on Nov 27, 2018
I was able to do it entirely with line logic. I thought I was going to have to use smile logic in the upper left, but then I didn't.#18: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Nov 27, 2018
There is definitely no way to solve this with only line logic. You must look at more than one line/column at the same time.#19: Meg Smith (mamadragonfreak) on Dec 9, 2019
i solved it with only line logic#20: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Dec 9, 2019
I just resolved this just out of curiosity after reading Meg's comment. I too solved it easily using only line logic. :)#21: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Dec 9, 2019 [HINT]
Nope. When there are only eight unknown spaces left in the upper left, there is no more line logic. The 1s in c1 can go in two places each, the 5 in c4 can go in three places, the 3s in r1, r2 & r6 can go in two places each. and the 1 in r7 can also go in two places. You must look at crossing clues to determine where any of these go, therefore it is at least moderate lookahead.#22: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Jun 15, 2020 [HINT]
concur with smile logic :)
