Gator, I could not follow you hint without having to mark something. Too far ahead to keep it in my brain.

2. At the 87% solved mark, the puzzle became virtually impossible to solve without trying certain squares and then pressing "check". I am not a novice, have been solving these puzzles for over 30 years, and the "lookahead" required to logically solve this puzzle (as explained in other comments) is ludicrously convaluted.
3. I have greatly enjoyed puzzles in the past authored by Mr. Colette, but this particular puzzle was about as enjoyable as having teeth pulled without novocaine. How about seeing to the solveability of some puzzles, or at least placing a puzzle like this in a special challenging category so that fruitless hours are not wasted.
