Puzzle Description:

If you've been reading my comments in Tom's recent minimalist what puzzles #'s 31 to 34,you'll understand. This is my father putting me over his knee and spanking me. After he tried to talk to me in a calm manner about hiding under Soeur Louise's habit, apparently i told him she had nice legs.

which one is al?

after initial line logic:

there are obviously several ways to tackle this but the most productive is using el on the 9 clue in r30 to dot c22-25, but dont forget to use iel on that same 9 clue to "dot" c10 (this isn't necessarily a true dot as that space could be part of the preceding 2 clue in that row, but it shows that the 9 clue in r30 must at least extend one more space to the right, so you can make c19 black)
ll almost finishes the rest except for the upper right corner
el on the 3 clue in r6 to dot c23-24
look at the 2x3 block of black clues in r7-8 (they are all part of 3 clues in c19-21)
they cant all go down into r9 and in fact two of the three cant even go into r9 (1-2 moves later you would get an error in r6) so at most one of those 3 clues can go into r9 which means at least two (if not all three) must go into r6; therefore r6c20 is black
no matter where the 2 clue in c25 goes r10c24 is a dot
no matter where the 2 clue in c15 goes r9c16 is a dot

i will try and come back to this later to see if i can find a logical way to finish

by the way are you aldege longstocking with that pippi-type hair)? haha

Continuing from where R6C20 is black, look at rows 7, 10 and 11. You need to look at how where you place the 3 clues affects rows 10 and 7. If you place the right 3 clue all the way to the right, then the most right the left 3 clue could be would be R11C19-R11C21. This placement makes row 10 invalid as you would not be able to place all four 1 clues. If you try to place it in R11C18-R11C20, then this will cause row 7 to be invalid as R7C18 and either R7C22 or R7C23 would have to be a dots (looking at the 2 places the right 3 clue could go). You can continue this logic to see that the left 3 clue cannot go in R11C17-R11C19 or R11C16-R11C18 either. The only place it can go is R11C15-R11C17. More line logic.

Now you can easily see that the right 3 clue of row 11 cannot go in R11C19-R11C21 (as before), so it must go in R11C23-R11C25. Line logic to finish. Great solve!

Found to be logically solvable by gator.

Okay, I needed to read #7 to understand. That is hilarious!

Bug, I got as far as you did.

Gator, I could not follow you hint without having to mark something. Too far ahead to keep it in my brain.
#13: Gator (gator) on May 17, 2012 [HINT]
Teresa - this is an instance of edge logic (and internal at that) where you cannot mark cells as dots (what I usually call where the clues are constrained). It is very hard to visualize. To make it easier to follow, you would have to mark the cells where the left 3 could not go after doing the edge logic, but then you would have to go back and un-dot those cells as the right 3 clue could go in those cells.

I used "intelligent" guesses to solve this. I find the image tough to see.
