Puzzle Description:

Annually, I compete in a ski race in the morning, and golf scramble in the afternoon. I guess 51 years caught up to me. Injury was the 14th, surgery the 15th. Got to keep it elevated....

It sucks when our age catches up with us and we realize that we can't do what we used to! Speedy recovery.
#3: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on May 3, 2012 [SPOILER]
Yikes! At least you have a lot of puzzles to keep you busy while you convalesce. :)

Aren't we supposed to have learned from experience by now? Nope, me neither.

i was going to give keicher the benefit of the doubt and say he was referring to the injury with his comment but with his history we all know better
haha

Aw c-mon Bug,I totally thought karl was feeling bad about Tom's pain. You mean he wasn't? He's saying Tom's puzzle is bad? Well I'm shocked.haha.

Poor baby! I mean that. You should be pampered and waited on while you are off your feet. Any chance of that happening? Speaking of happening, how did your injury happen exactly? Just curious.

Aw shucks, T (blushing). Here is the event: http://www.missionridge.com/events/steve-burchett-memorial-classic.html

A good friend last year on the course (I had a 3 gate lead on him by the time I crashed): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mv5cSLDdSd4

I didn't pre-slip the course. had the far right starting position, schussed the first 3 gates before I had to turn, noticed at the last second gate 6 was way right, made it, crashed and burned. Screaming speed and sheer ice. If I hadn't been wearing a helmet, I would be dead (probably making Karl smile). Spiral tib/fib fracture inside my boot. Titanium rod and 3 bolts in the tib, plate and 10 screws in the fib. Fortunately, it barely missed my ankle.

Ouch! How soon until you are back on your feet? I hope making puzzles for us helps you to heal. :-)

My guess was going to be that you were playing with your Etch-A-Sketch.

I understand the age vs. athleticism thing. I'm now 70, and just had my knee replaced so I could continue to play tennis. I could've given up the sport, just played golf or something appropriate for old guys, and avoided the surgery. But no, I'm doing the incredibly painful thing to keep playing that kids' game.
