Very clever - I did need the clue from the spoiler to discover the rebus meaning.

I solved this without guessing, but I did have to look a couple of steps ahead. Great puzzle.

after initial line/color logic:
el on the 8 clue in c2 with ll to solve all the rest except for the smoke in the upper right corner

look at the 2 remaining black 2 clues in c22 and c23; they cant both go down into r7 so at least one of them must go into r5 so you can dot r5c25 (or you can just do edge logic on the 3 clue in c25 to dot the same square of r5c25)
