#9: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Mar 16, 2012 [SPOILER]
Ok,all this award stuff is fun and cool, but I think Tom deserves an award for all these great puzzles, especially this one. Sure it was easy to guess, but i think this is an outstanding Superman for such a small grid. It certainly deserves more than a 2 for quality. I'm giving you a 5 Tom,and an FBA as well.Thx Tom.:)
#10: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Mar 16, 2012
FBA?
#11: Kadou (Kadou) on Mar 16, 2012 [SPOILER]
Nice colorful puzzle!
Do women want to see big muscles and small head? :)
#12: Lollipop (lollipop) on Mar 16, 2012
Sgusa, I read witty aphorism the other day: A woman marries a man because she thinks he will change, and a man marries a woman because he thinks she won't.
#13: Jota (jota) on Mar 16, 2012
Thanks for a fun entry!
#14: Jota (jota) on Mar 16, 2012
And ... never a small head!
#15: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Mar 16, 2012
"Large enough to hold a brain" works for me.
#16: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Mar 16, 2012
Kristen...you would be surprised what a head can hold :P
#17: Tom King (sgusa) on Mar 16, 2012
Thanks.

:) @ jota
#19: Teresa K (fasstar) on Mar 16, 2012 [SPOILER]
Nice biceps, Tom. Fun puzzle; sad circumstances.

I was going to say what Lollipop said. Some women marry a Clark Kent and want to turn them into Superman. Some men marry a Lois Lane and want her to stay that way forever. Doesn't happen though, does it?

I hope you recover from your divorce, and I hope you find someone who can appreciate you for who you are.
#20: Tom King (sgusa) on Mar 16, 2012
@ Aldege, Frozen Boot Award??
@ Kadou, possibly (remember this is a bitter sentiment)
@ lollipoop, I know that phrase well, and it could have been true
@ Jota, LOL
@ Kristen & Tom LOL
@ Teresa, thanks for the thoughts, I'll be just fine
#21: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Mar 17, 2012 [SPOILER]
Good Superman.
#22: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Mar 17, 2012
Yes Tom,frozen boot award, and i love your attitude, you will be fine. I've survived 2 divorces and life carried on just fine. All your friends on WEBPBN are here for you if you need to talk or joke around to lift your spirits.:)
#23: JoDeen Mozena (ozymoe) on Mar 19, 2012 [SPOILER]
Tom, using only three words, can you tell yourself why your marriage ended? Did any of the words apply to you? If so, having felt the bitterness of divorce, would you change anything about your actions through those years when the marriage was good? Would that have changed the path to divorce?

If so...don't do it/them twice. I am a happy person that has been married to my second husband for almost twenty-nine years. I married him seven years after my first husband left me and our children. Those children grew up to be a ICU charge nurse, a photo journalist and a doctor. My husband adopted them and has never made a distinction between them and the three children we had together. Joe was a surprise when the big kids were teens...and the twins came along 17 months later...because we hoped not to raise him as a lone last baby, and we were pretty sure he was a fluke in the first place! What a life changer...and we worked hard at keeping the older sibs involved. Today they are all in close contact and still share and love each other...for which I thank our oldest daughter. She's the driving force that keeps all our children close.

Anyway, what I'm saying is...divorce doesn't have to be the end of life. It's a good time to take stock and proceed with renewed self-knowledge and energy. You truly can and will be fine. Your future is waiting. Prepare for it!

...and what's a Frozen Boot Award, anyway?

If I have overstepped, I'm sorry...you say the word and I'll erase this and not intrude. I don't know your circumstances and I really have no right to offer advice. I just want you to feel empowered because when it happened to me I felt so helpless.

Oh, and one last thing...what do women want out of men? I want to feel valued...equally as important in our marriage and decisions, even though we contribute in different ways at different times to our personal relationship and the family dynamic. I cannot change anything about my partner, but if I have a need or want I can change myself.

well put JD
#25: Jota (jota) on Mar 19, 2012
Bravo!
#26: Tom King (sgusa) on Mar 19, 2012
Thanks, JoDeen. The soul searching has been accomplished. Wise words, indeed.
#27: Teresa K (fasstar) on Mar 19, 2012
Wow, JoDeen, your message of hope and encouragement is so valuable. Like you, I was raising three small children when my husband left me. Unlike you, I never remarried. I never thought I would say this, but I have found happiness and fulfillment as a single woman. Life is as good as we make it, whatever comes our way.

A side note: My parents were honored last week for being the longest married couple in Wisconsin. They were interviewed for the evening news in Madison for sharing 73 years of wedded bliss. They are so cute together - he is 95 and she is almost 93.
#28: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Mar 20, 2012
Wow! Many don't even live to see 73 much less married for that long.
