Redheads are like blondes;plenty of children have this hair color, but past puberty the vast majority of women have to get their hair dyed or bleached to keep the color they had as children.#4: Jota (jota) on Mar 12, 2012
Fun fact: there were no redheads in Ireland until the Vikings invaded. :D
I thought this might be a vampire, until your description. Then I remembered, "Gingers have no soul."
Thanks for an excellent entry, in every sense!#5: Susan Duncan (medic25733) on Mar 12, 2012
Great puzzle!#6: Kevin S (KevinS) on Mar 12, 2012 [SPOILER]
Kristen, they almost are vampires with their fear of the sun#7: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Mar 12, 2012 [SPOILER]
True, redheads don't tan, they burst into flames. :)#8: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Mar 13, 2012
Just couldn't quite get the last couple of squares. Gave up. Well designed if others could get it. Ran out of patience.#9: Teresa K (fasstar) on Mar 14, 2012 [SPOILER]
Nicely done, Kevin. Challenging solve, but lots of fun.#10: Kristen Vognild (Kristen) on Mar 15, 2012 [SPOILER]
I didn't know red hair was a mutation. How interesting.

Great article! Now I have to edit my Fun Fact: Vikings *contributed* to the number of redheads in Ireland and Scotland. :)#11: Nancy (nbarsi) on Mar 16, 2012
Finally finished well worth the solve, just beautiful, Kevin.#12: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Mar 18, 2012
beautiful picture Kevin and congrats....Teresa's is asking you the Q&A this week#13: Kadou (Kadou) on Mar 18, 2012
Congrats Kevin!#14: Teresa K (fasstar) on Mar 18, 2012 [SPOILER]
I spent a while on this one, but finished it with line/color logic alone.
I had never heard the "... have no souls" expression before.
I like mutants also, but prefer them witout red eyes. ;)
BTW, who's your lovely model?
Hey, Kadou, you read my mind. Answer that question in the 3Q interview, Kevin.#15: Kristen Vognild (Kristen) on Mar 18, 2012
Info from the "know your meme" web site: The phrase “gingers have no soul” comes from the South Park episode “Ginger Kids” that first aired on November 9th, 2005. At the beginning of this episode, Eric Cartman gives a class presentation on the subject of red-headed children and “Gingervitis,” a made-up disease.

That totally makes sense. It sounds like something Cartman would say.#16: Bobbie Hall (koalaobo) on May 11, 2012 [SPOILER]
I too thought this was a vampire until I finished the mouth. My dad is a redhead and longed for some redhead offspring. Not a one of his four children and many grandchildren carried this trait on. Nice image!#17: Diana W (Aeris) on Oct 30, 2013 [SPOILER]
She's gorgeous, but those red eyes are scary. :)#18: BlackCat (BlackCat) on May 12, 2014
What a great puzzle. The image is wonderful.
