Puzzle Description:

I couldn't decide on wine and glasses or a house plant so I got you both.

i like the way the glasses allowed you to create the illusion of the label on the bottle

It is a thoughtful gift only if the giver knows the recipient well enough to know that this would be a welcome and/or healthy idea.

Something to keep in mind: Only 65% of the adult population in the U.S. are drinkers. The other 35% do not drink for various reasons, only one of which is they may be a recovering alcoholic. Another common reason is they are on medications that alcohol can have adverse reactions with. Or they might be in that group of 25% of people whose lives have been affected by someone else's drinking that has left traumatic scars. Just seeing a bottle of wine could trigger painful memories from the past. As for the 65% of people who do drink, almost half of them drink at levels that put them at risk of alcoholism, health problems, or other problems that might interfere with parenting or jobs or relationships.

Just some things that we should all think about but usually don't. Sorry if it sounds like I'm preaching. I really don't have anything against people enjoying a glass or two of wine, I just want people to be aware of the risks of having more than "just a little" or giving alcohol as a gift.

Having said that, I think this is an excellent puzzle. It is artistic, well-designed and a great pleasure to solve.

Well said, Teresa. I don't think you were preachy. I am not offended by the gift (mainly cause it's virtual) but I am no longer a drinker. I have had a problem with alcoholism in my family and personally. I did not quit drinking because of the alcoholism but rather because now that I'm old enough to know better, I simply choose not to drink. I love wine, champagne, good tequila, and several imported beers but it is not worth the headaches, hangovers, and other health issues I get as a result of indulging in such delicious beverages. I find that water and iced tea suit my fancy just fine and I can wake up the next day without any regrets. I love that feeling! But I love having friends over so I keep a well stocked cabinet of elite alcoholic beverages so they can enjoy them if they want to (and if they plan to either spend the night at my house or bring a designated driver with them, of course). :)

Teresa. I agree completely. I don't really know Alicia. The virtual housewarming gift was just a response to her virtual home tour. Perhaps I should have stuck with just the houseplant but I really like the way the wine label came out.

I, myself, enjoy an occasional adult beverage in the 4-9% range but never to the excess and never before driving. I have gone to excess a few times in my life and hated the feeling of not being in control. Never again.

Very nice. The use of just a couple of colors really sets this off nice.
