I did this one at the request of Aldege in comments for Puzzle #16194.#2: bugaboo (bugaboo) on Oct 28, 2011
Here are some "hints": If you just use the hint/solver you are in for a rather painful solve. The most gratifying way to solve it that I found was to line-logic the bottom row and build up from the bottom (and right) and you will naturally hit the perimeter and then fill left to right. Internal edge logic at the end.

#1 I started with completely placing the 14 in the last row using EL. Quite straightforward line & color logic solved the rest of the puzzle from there.
