solvability: moderate lookahead
Puzzle Description:
Ah, Morticia!
#1: Gator (gator) on Oct 27, 2011 [HINT]
After the line logic which completes most of the puzzle except for the facial details, I was able to do a 2 move look ahead in row 27 to make R27C28 a dot. A little more line logic.#2: Web Paint-By-Number Robot (webpbn) on Oct 27, 2011
Next either R17C31 or R18C31 will have to be a dot. This makes either R17C26 or R18C26 a black. So in either case, R18C26 will have to be black. The rest solves with line logic.
Fantastic puzzle!
Found to be logically solvable by gator.#3: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Oct 27, 2011 [SPOILER]
Very nice! It looks like Addams' illustration.#4: bugaboo (bugaboo) on Oct 27, 2011
fabulous image and solve#5: Josh Greifer (joshgreifer) on Oct 28, 2011 [HINT] [SPOILER]
Thanks for the comments -- I must have made a mistake when I tried to solve it, I thought the while thing could be done without any lookahead! Yes, kristen, it was made from a scanned Addamms illustration.#6: Minnie Fuerstnau (m.fuerstnau) on Oct 30, 2011
Nice change from the usual jack-o'-lanterns and spiders; thanks for a interesting image!#7: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Oct 31, 2011 [HINT]
outstanding puzzle, fun solve. here's what i did after line logic:
- whether C16R27 or C22R27 are black, C16R28 is black.
- line logic
- edge logic on the 3 in C26 looking at C31 dots C26R21-25
- line logic
- edge logic on the 3 in C30 looking at C29 dots C30R24-25
i don't see two-move look-ahead, but i'm often mistaken about what is a move ;)
