I love this series, Teresa. Hard to believe now, but in my day Latin was a subject offered and in some cases mandated in the Montreal public high school system. I had to take four years of Latin prose and poetry starting at age 12, and then took two more at McGill U. I didn't see the point then and considered it what my mother always called "character training," but I came to realize that it has been a solid base for any command I may have of the English and French lexicons.

Latin is a dead language
It's plain enough to see
It killed off all the Romans
And now it's killing me.

Great image, Teresa, and I really like the poem, lollipop! Wish I'd known that back when Sister Agnes was teaching us. She probably would have made me translate it into Latin in front of the whole class.

Another great image! I took latin for about 2 weeks in Grade 9 and quickly realized that it wasn't for me. Thanks for the lessons Teresa.
