I don't go to the movies very much, so I have only seen one such movie -- and that was perhaps 30 years ago, when 3D glasses were a novelty. Although I was very impressed by the illusion created, I wondered what would happen if I took the glasses off. I did, and all of the characters that were just inches from me faded into the distance. I put the glasses back on and the characters jumped out of the screen and into the theater. So, it is just as Tom said.#12: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Jul 27, 2016
My family enjoys watching certain types of movies in 3D, but we have a few friends who are prone to motion sickness, so we choose the 2D showing whenever we watch movies together.
The current school of thought is not that the images jump out at you, but that you become immersed in the environment.
